Bonjourno,

Poorly sick in bed so thought I'd share some pics of my first Z4. A mint 22k mile 3.0si. It was utterly gorgeous, absolutely pristine until two teenage girls, 17 and 18 yrs old, nicked the 18 year old mums Audi A3, she was learning to drive and let her too young to drive mate have a go, she crossed a junction at 90mph and decided to use me as a dodgem car.

They went across at an angle ripping the front end off, the bonnet ended up about 20 feet behind the car. I was so incredibly lucky, if I'd been another 3ft forward they'd have had to identify me by my teeth!!

Took me a good 6 months to get over it, it was such a violent collision. What makes me more angry is my 8 year old son at the time would have lost his dad, 6 weeks after my own dad died, and I may not be the best dad in the world but we are incredibly close, he wouldn't have deserved to lose me.

Still, I was fairly ok so I don't dwell on it. :D

It looks like you have been really lucky their mate, as you say a few seconds later and it could have been a nasty one.

I hope you are recovering well.

Sorry not sure why it's done some pics twice...

I rang the insurers after a few weeks after the constabulary released the car to see when they would settle up, a girl on the line said they were repairing it and it just needed a damper, wishbone and bonnet....I asked what exactly were they going to attach the damper and wishbone to..???

Ouch :o so sad to see something like this happen, i had this happen to my previous car someone not looking went straight into the side of me at a roundabout nothing compared to your smash you was lucky to get out of that in one piece, all i was grateful for that me and my girlfriend walked away unharmed from the car. Just wish they would come down harder on the people who cause these accidents not just suspend a license they dont and probably never will have there needs to be a bigger deterrent to stop this happening.
Hope you feel better soon

There is often little point in looking back on things, especially bad moments. But it's human nature to reflect, especially when time is available to do so. The trick is to just think, well that one worked out eventual and this one bl##dy well will too.

Hey Matt,

They both went to crown court, got 12 months suspended scentences each. The 18 year old is pretty knackered, broke her pelvis in 5 places, doubtful she'll have kids apparently.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Wow... not a nice experience at all. Glad you came out of it ok!

On the other hand the Z did its job! Impressive how much of an impact the roady can suffer.

I remember you posting about this at the time but dont remember seeing pics.
Wow, that is some mess, as others have said you were pretty lucky.
Considering the amount of damage to the front of the car the cabin looks in good shape which probably saved you.
