Z4 E85 N52B25 performance upgrade

Post by Steve84N » Thu Oct 05, 2017 12:28 pm

I'm confused, the 2.5l N52 in the e89 makes about 201bhp so I can understand getting to that from 177bhp but another 55bhp from a software tune seems incredible for an NA engine?

I don’t think it’s 2.5litres, in the states they call the soft tuned 3litre a 2.5 (confusing eh?)
I think all that’s happened is the OP has had his restricted 3litre mapped to its natural output.
The version they get in the states has a single stage disa as opposed to our 3stage version. It’s hardware & software changes to get the missing mumbo back

Surely that would still be the N52B30 though?

I think my interpretation is right, the 2.5litre Car isn’t going to produce 255 ponies, it’s got to be a 3litre.

Z4 E85 N52B25 performance upgrade

Post by Scarp » Thu Oct 05, 2017 12:46 pm

its a normal 2,5 liter :) but the N52 engine is the same as in E89 the M54 is different.

And there is no supercharger for the N52B25 only for the N52B30 :) I was thinking of swaping the 3,0 and making it custom aswell with a big supercharger :D

I never wrote it only soft there is a race exhaust custom made a race intake etc :) in europe the N52B25 in Z4E85 has 130kw (mine) and the N52B25 in E89 Z4 has I think 160 kw

My thoughts too but apparently it's a 2.5.

We know the M54 is different but the 2.5 in the e89 doesn't make 255bhp, the 3.0 does...

That print out I showed is a supercharged N52B25 engine. ESS supplied the charger and kit. It's in an 2011 E89.

Sadly you’re not going to get 50bhp from an exhaust & intake change, I think the Dyno must have been fed magic mushrooms

A big thing in the states they love is buying our N52 manifolds, We have two disa's giving the higher bhp figures. They don't have them over there I'm lead to believe.

Even if it had ten disa’s it wouldn’t produce 255horses, we haven’t seen the Dyno print out yet?

The page before I posted the dyno print out.

I'll have to find the link of Zpost about the way the disa's work together with the valvtronic system to get all the extra.
