First thought.. earth fault.

You say corrosion free, have you checked all sockets for good wiring and no water ingress?

If the indicators flash quicker it means a bulb is out. Check the side lights for example.

You say the bulbs are good but it's worth swapping them over (only the fronts and rears as sides are not monitored) and seeing if the fault follows. Can sometimes pick up a bulb on its way out.

Also happens if the indicator bulb holder isn’t twisted into place correctly

I had this problem before on the right side indicator.

Do yours flash ok when you just have the hazards on?

I had the same exact issue...turned out, (at least on my car) to be the body control module was acting up. It was replaced with a second hand unit, was about £50 I think and some programming by my indy.

It was a simple as my mechanic had seen it before. He is a bmw specialist and essentially told me what it was within 5 seconds of looking at the car. According to him it’s not that unusual of an issue.

You could physically install the unit yourself very easily but yes there is a small amount of programming. I was getting another job done at the time and the mechanic didn’t even charge me to code the BCU, so it can’t be a big job.
