Steel Brake line replacement...
The car is now off the road for winter....
I have removed the rear sub frame to get it all powder coated and new seals on the diff, Seams like a good time to replace the rear brake lines as they are showing a bit of corrosion.
Can you still buy the replacement lines from BMW?
Looking at the car the nearside is one piece to the ABS pump..
the offside has a join about half way.
I know copper is going to be cheaper.. but OE steel lines look much nicer!
What would you do?
Adam

Replace with Kunifer every time. The bmw ones are pre formed and will be a nightmare to fit, plus they will then corrode again..

I know, BUT most of the rears are hidden, What I would do to retain the "factory" look up top, is joining them under the plastic panel, near to the front of the car, assuming you have an on car flaring tool that will flare steel, a lot of them only do copper, so check. Then under the bonnet it still looks factory.
I can recommend a good one, that is only about £38 and does steel and copper on the car.

Assuming 10mm then something like this. I replaced the rears on a mini at the weekend and one was 10mm and the other 12mm. No idea why, but std firt on the min for some reason or other.

Use the original unions if you can. Obviously cleaned up a bit.bradz wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 12:56 pm http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cupro-Nickel- ... SwI-BWHrG5

I very rarely come across any I can't reuse.
Back in the 80's and 90's though......'twas a different story
Good luck with your powder coating. Will look good and clean under there.

Thanks Andy,
Are they likely to be of a better Quality/Fit?
