Interesting you got such a difference. I don't recall anyone actually replacing the shocks with another set of the OEM Sachs ones. As you say your original genuine Sachs were no doubt knackered but the eibach springs are probably playing a significant role in this. As folks who have just changed their Oem springs for eibach ones have reported a noticeable improvement in ride quality in the past.
