Hi all,

You may or may not have heard that one of our fellow members essentially had their hardtop stolen. They were kind enough to lend it to another in order to make a mould from it but circumstances turned sour and the recipient of the roof disappeared into this air for the roof never to be returned.

Read the story here:. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=93049

I've had some great experiences in this forum with plenty of people offering their help and time for my many problems. Its this kind of community spirit that makes this such a great forum. With that in mind I've set up a gofundme page to try and help Moheddine recoup at least some of their loss so they can put it towards a replacement.

If you'd like to help out you can find it here: https://www.gofundme.com/moheddines-new-hardtop

Cheers!
Greg

Just incase anyone's uncomfortable donating to someone they don't know, I've bought and sold various thing over last year or so. Dietcokeman sent wheels to my work, I had a backbox from ducklakeview to my work again, pbondar and mefiecosse both came to my house to buy things so there's folk that can confirm I'm legit :)

£100 in 12 hours would suggest we're well on our way to proving that :driving:

Mpre of a question for the OP here.

Do you still have the guys telephone number and text messages kept and phone calls (these will be proven via bills on itemised ones anyway)

Now I am not saying call the feds as nothing will happen but will say for certain you'd win a civil case against him for the full cost of a hard top new from BMW fully painted the works.

I am not a lawyer..yet I am a law student with about 1 year left and my full time job involves litigation and defending pi and legal claims so do genuinely know a thing or two and have successfully courted private individuals, a very very large travel firm for a few K and the DWP. it will be pretty easy to locate the guy and serve him notice and all the paperwork. It's all done online and costs a mere £60 all in. I am willing to help out with this no problem at all. If of interest please just let me know.

You'd need to direct this at the member in question on the other thread I linked to. I am not involved with what happened at all, just trying to help out a guy who unfortunately got into a bad situation.

I can't tell if you're referring to the fundraiser or the member's bad experience...

Just dropped a small donation online, but what a bastards trick to play.

I 've tried to rack this guy down but the business is registered to an address in London which avoids the directors giving their own addresses, when someone does that there's something wrong!. :x

It's easy. Stupidly left his name exposed. Electoral register, phone number and even companies house can track down these guys. Even enough Facebook stalking would find anyone these days. Except me as I never even signed up to it.
