It's beyond me why they removed the rear underside tension struts. I'm sure with a slight adaptation for the underneath exhaust it would fit.
Sure they made a sturdy cage in the interior, but now the diff resides in a 'C' structure frame instead of a true cage when the underside tension struts are in place. And we all know what risks that involves (think e46 m3 subframe)
Ive seen pictures of this build and to fit that huge engine they had to hack away about 99% of the center tunnel to make it fit.
Thats why they probably made that centercage; the center tunnel is the part the z4 chassis gets its strenght from.
They did fit true rear coilover though (that wont give any problems though with that huge cage on the rear shock mounts).

Interesting beast of a Z4. To be honest though, the best place for 8.3 ltrs of ZB1, is in a Viper.

Still here as is the beast, I’ve just been putting some mileage on the car to prove it all does what it should do.
The Viper engine must be fairly ridiculous but don’t think it’ll match a S85 V10 at full chat for the insane sound track.
