Z4 3.0i se coupe

Post by Phoenixboy » Mon Nov 20, 2017 6:27 pm

Went and looked at one of these on a 07 plate today.
Dealer had it for a while it appears, and dropped the price on a Christmas clear out, 6995.00
88000, service history mixed.
Offered me a fair px, but just couldn’t convince myself it was worth what I’d have to pay on top of mine.
All the wheels would need a refurbish, lower front bumper scuffed in two places and cream interior leather was in need of serious restoration.
Looked at mine parked by it and thought, no.
Would like the 3.0ltr but not when it’s nowhere near as clean as mine.
Would have to spend 500 straight off to get it tidy.
Yeh I’m fussy, but just didn’t seem like it had been looked after by an enthusiast, which then starts me wondering if it is any better mechanically.
The right 3.0ltr will come along.

Sounds like it needed a bit of TLC. Have you got a link to the advert in case any members are interested?

You'd have to really want that interior finish & as the current dealer is finding its never going to be easy to shift on  & even harder when you've added the miles towards 100k .
Looks ok outside & very few 10yr old sports cars will be getting sold requiring absolutely zero to spend on it so i would always factor in some sort of budget to add on top of what you pay .

To be fair even with a spend of £500 on top of the asking price, it seems a bit of a bargain to me!

But I really would want to find some M-Sport seats, and we all know they don't come cheap! :(
Coupes because stunning!

I think if it had been better presented I may have felt differently.
Just got the impression it had been in stock too long, he’d had some issues with it which he had to sort, and he just wanted shot of it.
Got the impression it hadn’t been that well looked after, and as I said, that concerns me enough to put me off any car if it’s not been looked after.
Have to have a good feeling about a car if I’m going to buy it. If not I walk away. There’s always a good one out there.

That is the problem buying from a dealer!

At least buying privately you can assess the owner as well as the car.

But if the dealer is keen to shift it you do stand to get a good deal - personally I'd make a cheeky offer then sit back and wait!

£6,995 seems cheap for any manual Coupe with less than 100K miles. :)

The price was good, but you have to be prepared to take the chance that it’s overall condition being average at best doesn’t reflect the way it’s been maintained.
I personally prefer to wait and get a car that’s clearly been cherished, even if the mileage was a bit high.

Wheels don't look too bad compared to some 108's I've seen.
