sp3ctre wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2017 9:22 pm What I suggested was that each member offering a service can add the (hopefully discounted) price to the discount section. They get one thread each and people can post their thank you's on that thread. Those threads also won't appear on the new topics list so we won't end up with a clutter of threads as we do now. It will also mean that people actively looking for a service will be able to see the feedback on the thread without irritating everyone else.

Yes, this does mean that there will be a small amount of commercialness allowed, but let's face it that was happening anyway, hopefully this will keep it in the right section and there will be a whole lot less bumping going on.
Thanks for the clarification, that all sounds perfectly reasonable.

I think the end result is the right one too
Thanks I guess if it hadn't been me it would have been someone else, all the pms supporting my stance and acting confirm this. I knew alot weren't happy, I just didn't realise it was that many.

Hopefully the forum can now get back to what it's supposed to be

I think we need to have a separate part on the forum for where people can thank people for thanking people. Just sick of seeing all this thanks for thanking people. :poke:

I may have missed this somewhere in the thread, but how do you know if this needs doing or not? I've just bought a 2003 E85 with the 3.0 engine, which has now done 148,000 miles.... however, the previous owner was a mechanic, so theres every possibility its already been done if its a relatively straightforward job for a mechanic.

The car drives fine I think, but if theres an extra 30lbft of torque I could have in the midrange, that would definitely be worth doing!

Only thing I can add is that there is a noticeable change in sound at about 5000rpm, which I presume is something coming 'on cam' so to speak - should this kick happen lower down the rev range or something?
