My other half had an accident in her 66 reg Fiesta ST in the summer. It cost 10 grand in parts and labour to fix, yet they didn't declare it a total loss.
A 15 yr old Z4 & a 66 plate Fiesta ST :? where is the connection or relevance between the 2 cars or claims ?

The connection is the cost to repair vs value of the car. Insurance company said it was right on the limit of being uneconomical to repair, to the point they were going to declare it a total loss. My other half had to argue for it to be repaired and even had to refuse to be provided a hire car (a volvo v40 at a cost of £140 a day) to keep the cost down, for the repair to take place.

What's your connection or relevance to your comment? Beside's having a chip on your shoulder, for some reason.

:P you do like to throw your infinite wisdom into various threads but the minute someone else offers their own opinion you deem they have a " chip on shoulder "

Sorry to hear about your car OP.

As everyone else has said, if insurers do call it a total loss or constructive total loss try to get the best deal you can while retaining the car.

As it will probably end up on the "hit list" take plenty of photos before, during and after repairs. A "Cat C or D" wouldn't put me off a car if it happened at 15 years old and I could see the damage.

Hope you get a good outcome.

Sorry, who are you? Can't remember having any issues with you. You must be one of Wilks' henchmen.

Unless you have them all documented from the last 5 years you would need a memory of epic capacity
I don't have or need "henchmen" but then again i don't have paranoia or personality problems .
All i did here is ask how you found a connection between the op's 15yr Z4 & your girlfriends 66 plate Fiesta ? It wasn't personal or antagonistic , i was simply curious as i can't see any relevance :?

This coming from the guy that takes offence to anyone having an opinion on Lewis Hamilton other than yours. I quote, “Suck it up losers” and “You’re all jealous of him”. No, some people have a different opinion to you, but you jump down anyone’s throat that declares it. Chip on the shoulder? You appear to have a whole sack of spuds on yours.

That will be a chip on each shoulder then... Our paths have crossed but then im one of many you’ve tried to belittle, whilst sat bravely behind your keyboard, so no surprise youve forgotten..

Yawn... Amazing how you've all managed to ruin this guys thread, without providing any input into the topic discussed. Well done

Then why did you suggest a chip on a shoulder in the first place? What relevance has that to do with the post? Then you go on to call Pastry a henchman, What has that to do with the post?

If you’re going to dish it out you gotta take it as well, but not you, you don’t like that, bigots generally don’t.

Well that thread took a detour!
Sorry to hear about your car. If it does get written off you then have the exciting part of finding a replacement

Crashed car advice

Post by nick_l » Sun Dec 03, 2017 9:34 am

Mine was written off in March of this year after a slow impact. The other car turned across my path as I was crossing a set of traffic lights. I bought the car back for next to nothing, and fixed it up with the payout... and still had money left. Ok the car is now cat d and my insurance has taken a little bit of a hit, but I’m planning on keeping the car until it dies, and it was kinda fun putting it back together myself.
