Air Intake (plenum)

Post by Machine monkey » Wed Dec 06, 2017 8:41 am

Anyone know if they are all the same? 2.2-2.5-3.0?

Has anyone got spare? I could take mine off my car but I am only thinking about an idea and just need to look one over and check some things. Ideally a 3.0l one would be great.

The idea
I want to build a less complicated equal flow plenum for my turbo build. The plastic one on the car will be holding me back. Making the plenum is no problem for me. It’s the matting it to the engine that causes some issues. On older m50 engines it looks like it’s possible to use the lower part that connects to the head and then using silicone connectors to connect to the aluminium part I will be making. If this is possible for M54 it’s a very easy job.
My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!

I put my hand in my pocket and have brought one. I will have 2 going spare in the near future if anyone wants one.
