Perfect speed.

Do you think that instead of it going off when it completes the circle, it could go out clockwise fashion, essentially opposite the way it goes on, then it can repeat on, off, on, off in a smooth fashion?

Haha 🙂 yeah can have the on/off sequence pretty much how you want. The reason I did a sharp cut off is that’s how the phantom works. I much prefer the smooth on / off effect like my last video :)

I really like that latest video where the off pattern follows the on pattern!

The LED strip looks white, would we need to buy amber/orange strips?

This looks infinitely better than Gaptech's Phantom I'd say. I'd be well up for giving this a go with a good
how-to

The strip itself is white, you can only get black or white background (it’s the circuit tape colour). White I figured was best, and I would print the inside part white too (it’s currently black) but as the leds output orange all should be good :).

Yeah smooth on/off is by far the best IMO

What's the light spread like and how did you split them? I was planning on putting strip in but just for on/off flashing.
This is what I did... or I'm still doing TBH!! I also cut them shorter. Dead easy to split. The glue holding them is really brittle so will come away with some gentle prising and pulling.

Thanks mate, I presume we are talking about the lens vs the base, i.e. opposite to the badge end. Light spread looks good.

Cool, thanks, wondered if those were clips or locating pins.
