service history online?

Post by elevensies » Wed Dec 13, 2017 7:32 pm

just a thought, as iv recently moved house, and among all the clutter i cant acytally find my z document wallet, has V5 mot insurance and all the bmw stuff

i cant find any of the paperwork for the cars, just the motorbikes, hmmmmmm :headbang:

anyway, i can get a replacemnt v5, and mot, insurance is easier as its on email, its the other things like the service history, the Bluetooth code, the booklets and all that. so wondered if bmw provided online history so i can print it off.

I dislike my local bmw garage, full of pretentious brown shoed kids in grey suits. :fuelfire:

Hi, I think the dealers hold the info but it’s not freely available-I’ve heard of owners paying for it :o

BMW information line on 0906 209 0001 (at £1/minute)

They can tell you all the times its been into a BMW dealer (The date and dealer name)

Then you have to call the individual dealerships to confirm what was done on the car. (They wont tell you anything that isn't a service or MOT)

Then you can buy replacement service book and send to each dealer in turn and they will re-stamp it for you.

Really? I’ve never heard of this....Ok, this is very interesting for those of us who bought with NSH, but have that key log page from BMW. Hmm....
Is this folk lore, or has someone here done it?

I've done it, got the running in service confirmed and stamped.

Haven't got round to getting the others done yet but I will.

When I acquired my zed in the summer it came with a gap in the history. There’s a seller on eBay claiming to be able to access BMW records and provide a report for £20 but i’m not sure how legitimate it is. I didn’t bother in the end because I figured that it only matters if/when I come to sell. I’d be interested to hear if anyone’s tried this or similar.

I phoned BMW UK on a 0800 number this week and got the same info for free!

So I’ve got my report and it just lists the ‘retailer number’. It seems consistent which is good, but how do I find out which retailer it is? 05386. I googled BMW Retailer 05386 and Rochdale appeared, but I can’t understand why that one appeared, the number wasn’t obvious anywhere as part of the results.

Any ideas?

Not sure, I got given the dealership name on the phone.

Call and ask will be the quickest way to confirm.
