Coilovers or Lowering Springs?
Hey all,
I have recently purchased a Z4C and ordered some 19s yesterday. I'll be getting tyres this week, but want to know what to go for to lower it enough to get it sitting perfectly over 19s. I have the budget for reasonable coilovers (like BC Racing) but if buying a set of lowering springs will achieve the result without much overall difference it might be the way to go.
Suggestions on which option and which brands requested from you lovely lot.

Coilovers I would say, you can always adjust them how you like. I personally didn't like eibachs on B4s at all on a B road

I'd check the ride and height first on the 19"s. Some have said it's so stiff it rattles your teeth!! Chassis and normal sport suspension is tough on some roads as is. Just my opinion ofcourse.

Had mine on Eibachs and 19s and the ride was too hard for a daily driver imo, looked amazing though

I've recently swapped H&Rs with B8s for a set of BC coilovers and much prefer it.... you can tweak the height front to rear and get the perfect gap, with Eibachs or H&Rs you're restricted to their fixed height!
Also the adjustable damping is nice, I have it set on soft for daily commuting but can turn it up if I fancy it a bit firmer. the BC's won't cost much more than Bilstein B12 kit either.

Coilovers or Lowering Springs?
I have experience with BC coilovers on a previous car and they are excellent, plenty of adjustment options, will follow this one with interest, ive been thinking about this very thing but havent been sure which way to go!

Coilovers, if you can afford it go for KW or STA (made by KW) they are a great starter coil over.

Aren't KW really expensive? My budget is around £800, ish.
I think I'll got for the coilovers (seeing as I just scored a good deal on a set of tyres). I'll post results once ordered and fitted. Thanks guys!
Keen to see photos of ride heights, if you guys don't mind?

I can also vouch for BC racing coilovers, no experience on a Z4 but I have a set fitted on my MR2 and have found them to be really good.

They are cheap coilovers in the grand scheme of things, you pay for what you get with these things. depends on when you are using the car I guess and what weather protection you need etctee.gilding wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 9:58 amAren't KW really expensive? My budget is around £800, ish.
