There is no way I would drill a hole through the rear bulkhead given the work involved Vs threading through an existing hole. You'll need to drill a much larger hole, rustproof/paint it and then insert a rubber grommet to prevent chaffing.
I meant to drill a hole throught the plastic cubby hole, not the bulkhead, as PVR's photo shows there is plenty of room already through the Bulkhead.
