Hmmm... I e-mailed BMW.com thinking I'd get a reply from Germany and got a reply from BMW UK so maybe these are UK only numbers (in which case my mistake and I apologise ) - although I did ask them for TOTAL numbers . Still, even if the figure is just 3,600 for UK (plus Z4MC's) we're still a pretty exclusive gang - most of the Chimaera production, for example will have stayed home in the UK so that remains a good example of exclusivity in my book. Interesting to see the Top Gear boys took the shell off an old Chimaera chassis for a "project" recently - must have made a few TVR owners wince!

I drive down the M1 every day for 40 miles and have seen one other Z4C in six months. And a few vectras.

I passed a black one on my way home last night and the A66 near boro, very rare to see another one.
Had mine coming up a year and have seen 3 others, 2 in darlington and that one last night, one of those is virtually the same as mine in darlington and people keep saying to me that they spotted me in certain places and i ignored them, when it wasn't me.

I think the 3000 figures are more realistic if you go on this website how many left.com it tells you how many cars are reg on englands roads you can choose a make and model. This information is from dvla search bmw z4 coupe 268 manuals reg in england and 168 autos reg in england im sure i was told bmw only made 500 per year of each so figures seem to be right.

And this just isn't right, at least not completely. There were about 560 ish M Coupés in the UK alone. 4500 ish M Coupés worldwide, mostly in the US where they were all built.

in the uk there are 2771 coupes, 616 of them are automatic. i have no idea how many are left though
