Is that the record then? 133k miles actually covered as the owner. Maybe time for a separate thread "Actual miles covered in my ownership". Anyone beat 133k as the actual owner?

No issues regarding the insurance/accident - just some issues in actually getting it back from my mate...as he's decided to do all the 'little bits' I've been putting off (exhaust corrosion, rear brake lines, coilover service, proper geometry check, fixing the insurance-relocated-to-behind-the-bodywork brake pad sensor, etc.)

That, along with some illness, garage-blocking customers, flooding and new garage equipment installs/reinstalls has meant I've just left it there until I get the call.
Glad to hear your nearly there! Maybe ready for some summer hooning!

142k for me and my Z4MC.

Bought at the end of November 2008 on 9,300 miles from Specialist Cars in Cow Roast, Tring.

Now on 151,700, and into my 8th year of ownership.

If it hadn't been for my accident in December 2015, and extended period off-the-road, it would have another 25,000 miles on it by now.

Some bits now over 163,000 miles, some less than 1,000 miles.

It's just rolled over 160k miles...

Had a few major and minor bits replaced whilst it was under AUC/Insured warranty up to 100,000 miles:
  • Engine @ 23k
  • Diff @ 78k and 150k
  • NSF caliper
  • Wiper relay
  • MAF
  • 2 x parking sensors
Since then I've replaced a few bits at my cost:
  • MAF
  • Clutch & flywheel @ 140,000
  • Preventative cooling pack (rads, thermostat, water pump, belts, some hoses, etc.)
  • New set of 224Ms as the refurbs never lasted more than a year before they started peeling/bubbling
  • Bilstein B16 PSS10 coilovers
  • Gruppe M
  • Rogue Diablo exhaust
  • Recaro Pole Position ABE seats
  • Porsche Brembo F&R calipers
Obviously, there's been loads of consumables in the form of brake pads & discs, tyres, fuel, extra servicing (oil/brake fluid every 6k at a minimum, sometimes twice in a month when it's been at the 'Ring or done a couple of trackdays), etc.

...and some chunky bits from my accident in 2015 (rear trailing arms, drive shafts, 2 wheels & tyres, 2nd diff)

Strangely, never had any of the seemingly common rear springs or O2 sensors. due to an incident on the last Z4_Forum National, I now need my first 2 rear O2 sensors :headbang:

Most of it's history is available on my Pistonheads car blog & summary pages.

My 2004 Z4 3.0i is at ~116K and counting. I would just say good maintenance. Doing work yourself will save you a small fortune and allow you to replace more parts (preventative maintenance) for the same price as it would cost to do a few with the labor costs of the dealership or an indy. Our engine bay's are actually really spacious, so I've found that with a youtube video or DIY guide found online replacing things are rather easy.
