Just a quick comment on the Michelin Pilt Sport ZP. The ZP means zero pressure, so they are runflats.

I've just swapped Brigestone RFTs for Falken 452s (on 18" rims), and I am a little underwhelmed. From reading other comments I was expecting a major difference, but there is still lots of tyre noise, tramlining and bouncing over every little bump. So, the only benefit I could see wass that 4 Falkens were £390 , and Bridgestones were £650+
Oook.

Shipkiller-

Went with PS2's. Love 'em. As many have said, they are pricey, but in my opinion have improved the drivability of the Z4. That's my .02.

Ok i'll chime in here rather than starting a new thread.

I'm looking at getting either the PS2's or the F1 GS-D3 summer tires. Though i've pretty much decided on the F1's due to cheaper price and way sexier tread (IMO) I was wondering if ya'll could give any reviews from the Z4 perspective on both tires. I searched a little and it seems to be about half and half in favor of either.
I'm looking for 225/40ZR18 S fronts and 255/35ZR18 S rears.....but i'm curious as to what the 40 & 35 numbers represent....I must be blind and keep missing it on tire rack.
'03 Z4 3.0i manual transmission w/ sports package, interior xenons, wind deflector, Michelin Sport PS3's, cheap big brake upgrade, headlights with black internals and clear lenses, Alutech braces inc horizontal strut bar.

BlackSapphireZ...do you have the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Seasons? I'm leaning towards ditching my Bridgestone RFTs for the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Seasons.
BlackSapphireZ wrote:michelins are little pricey... I went for the GoodYear Eagle F1's awesome grip in both wet and dry conditions and even in the cold, it performs well. I have so far about 17000 miles on the tires and still have few thousands to go. EXCELLENT tread rating to me since i drive hard.
have no regrets with my purchase!

Yep, plain as day. Reckon that's what being up at 2-3am will do.

Just replaced my Bridgestone 17" RTF (on 103's) with Avon ZZ5 XL 18"(on 108's) £370 fitted at home by National tyres. Grip a plenty, quieter and nicer ride, bargain.

I don't know if Michelin sells the same tires on both sides of the pond, but I just bought Pilot Sports A/S 3+ and like them very much. Something in the car which was rattling on the way to the tire shop was quiet on the way home. Ride and handling are both much improved. Non RFT of course: I will take my chances with no spare and no jack, although I do have a 12V inflator pump aboard in the event of a slow leak.
Current cars: 2013 Honda Civic EX (daily driver, 55,000 KM) + 2003 Mazda MX-5 SE (Titanium Grey, with 22,000 KM) + 2006 BMW M6 (Indianapolis Red Metallic, just turned 67,000 KM)
First sports car was 1963 Morgan 4/4 in 1964.Image
