Re: Got my Mangowalk Stubby
The external antenna is for AM only. FM uses several antennie locate around the body and a diverstiy amplifer to get the best FM signal, which is located next to the battery on the roadster. I usually listen to AM (talk radio) in the morning on the way to work. Now, with my stubby antenna, AM broadcasts suck... oh well, it looks good....

Re: Got my Mangowalk Stubby
That explains why my reception never deteriorated as only ever listen to FM. I didn't think anyone actually tuned into AM any longer (well not in the UK anyway) along with LWShipkiller wrote:The external antenna is for AM only. Re: Got my Mangowalk Stubby
For some strange reason, I kinda like the R/C look of the car with the aerial. But I swapped it to the Mangowalk shorty, and have nothing but praises for the thing. The only warning to people who want this is (and I'm sure y'all are going to make fun of me again) that the tiny rubber-band rings will eventually dry and fall off as shown here:

Not so sure about that last bit. Your MFSW writeup seems to imply a bit of F1 practisecj10jeeper wrote:All my sport is live - if I ain't participating I ain't interested. Giving away my secrets. Aside wasting my time on forums I hold a powerboat licence, have driven many open wheel racing cars (low powered by F1 stradards) used to rally drive and am a half decent off road driver at various competitive disciplines. Try to do a few different things

Re: Got my Mangowalk Stubby
There is also a FM anenna in the rear bumper, but there is obviously a reason why they added the rear external one.ewans wrote:thats a good price, i got one of ebay shipped from hongkong cost £25 all in!gannet wrote:you can get them here: Mangowalk
you've got to wonder why they didn't just build the ariel into the windscreen and keep body lines nice and clean. Cost cutting or a lazy after throught?

Re: Got my Mangowalk Stubby
So if I get one, how bad is AM reception? There is a program I enjoy when I'm in the car between 12-3pm. And yes, I'd rather hear my show than have the stubby.

Does anyone know of anywhere else other than Ebay to get these? Due to massive problems I had with ebay in the past I cannot use the site anymore

Does anyone know if the stubby antenna affects the BMW Assist function?
