somewhere in the middle of this lot there are some pictures that some good fellow posted. You cut thru both skins, weld the pipe so it is open inside the inner box then weld both skins to it. (Best verify this)
Coupe, KW coil overs, PSB limiters, Powerflex ARB bushes, 18" CSL reps, Aero skirts, ZHP leather knob, Whippy and proud. Probably needs a wash

Yeah I've seen the pictures and read every post on every discussion on this and I still can't find an answer. On one post a fellow says he welded just to the outer skin after cutting through both but others have said they welded to the inner one.

This sounds excellent to me and makes sense as well. Don't want drone at all or super loud when pulling away normally ( done that before with aftermarket exhausts).

Not to mention it is a cheap mod to get a bit of sound.

Still haven't managed to hear / see a video of it on any car let alone an M to make up my mind.

Can anyone repost a link if they have found one as every link I find has been removed as its too old.

Thanks

Just a wee bump for this as I am quite excited that it could be for me! :)

Any videos or original posters who can put a link to a video up?

Darren "7" who is still on here looked like he was interested for his imola M roadster. Did it ever happen?

Would love some more info.

Done the deed and ordered the pipes (only £38.40) delivered so a bargain!

Got a man lined up to do the work over the next couple of weeks while the car is off the road getting the bumper painted again!! ready for its detail and ceramic coat.

Will also be going back to standard size tailpipes as couldn't get used to the larger size of the ones I have now.

Looking forward to getting the car back when I am get back from holiday. Five weeks is a long time not to drive my DD. Wonder if I will manage it? :D :driving:

I've done this on my M and it sounds fantastic, I've used 22mm pipe and it does go through both skins on the exit. for such a cheap mod the results are great. I say cheap, it didn't cost me anything

Yours must be a bit louder than the videos I have heard! Love the noise I have heard on the videos and everyone I have asked about it from the thread has loved the noise on the M at least.

I will let you know what he does as he knows more about exhausts than I do. His business is actually making bespoke exhausts for Jaguars normally. Usually a lot of car porn manifolds etc when you visit his workshop. I would think however it will be impossible to weld to the inner skin on the exit unless you drill two different diameters in the backbox pipe and use weld to fill in the outer skin which I haven't seen evidence of in the pictures I have seen. I think it much more likely it will just be an interference fit on the inner skin and welded on the outer skin.

Perhaps Yorkie can let us know?

For a 2007 3.0si, with only one rear resonator box, would I need one bypass pipe or two?
I saw an assumption that since 2 pipes going into the resonator, then weld 2 pipes to exit. But no d finite enough answer from someone that actually had it done. Is this what everyone is doing?

Just one I believe because you only have one pipe going into your backbox.

You still need 2 pipes. Si back boxes have 2 inlets and 2 outlets.

M boxes only have 1 inlet each side.
