I never really left, just really busy indeed Oh and I didn't even mention that we have another kid on the way...
Roadsters & Coupés Events is getting well-known in Belgium for the moment. We're still small, but we are now getting supercars as well. On our last ride we had a 612 Scaglietti and in july we'll have an AMG GT. We've had 911's as well, but those are not as exclusive of course. But still, that sound of a 911 Turbo... not a bad thing

How are you finding the Boxster compared the the Zed after a few months ownership?
Z4R 3.0si Sport auto. So far: 19" CSLs, Eibachs, MM exhaust tips, de-badged rear, stubby, black grilles, spacers, aux cable, interior LEDs, LED boot strip......

There's really no comparison actually. Both cars are very different.
The Zed was a little more agressive but missed a little "punch". The Boxster is less agressive, but a little more powerful.
The design is very different as well, a little due to the age difference as well (the Boxster is 10 years older).
There's a significant difference in technology as well, again, probably due to the age difference as well. The Boxster needs a little more time to warm up, needs a little more time to find the right rpm at idle so sometimes you have to play a little with the throttle, which is also an older system with cable instead of an electronic throttle like the Zed.
But overall I'm quite happy with the car. I always loved the design and sound of the Porsches in general. I had the exhaust altered by Carnewal, which is a big plus in sound, sounds really good now, especially when the exhaust is hot.

The IMS issue really is more for the 911 models and far less for the Boxsters. If I would ever go back to BMW, I'd probably go with the E89 or 6-series but I wouldn't go back to the E85 which has a far too rigid suspension...

But you had a 2.2 Z4
It would be better to compare it with a 3.0 Z4

Not really, a 2.5 would be a better comparison to the 2.5 Boxster. But then again, my 2.2 was a little quicker than standard after a remap, sports filter and less restrictive exhaust. Probably close to the 2.5 in performancegasman wrote:But you had a 2.2 Z4

Well in the meantime things haven't been great with the Boxster. During the last road trip the car broke down and after inspection at the garage, it seems to be an electrical issue... In fact, the previous owner messed with the cables and that seems to have caused a short circuit. As a result a whole bunch of fuses blown, as well as a few cables that burned through. Luckily the car didn't catch fire. Anyway, the car is still under warranty but the seller isn't responding to my messages. He already had so many repairs on my P, that he's probably fed up. But as I see this as a hidden defect that I couldn't be aware of, under Belgian law I am entitled to a refund. But obviously I'll have to talk to a sollicitor to get things going as the seller is pretty quiet. Luckily I'm well insured so I' not too bothered.
In the meantime my company car was due for replacement as the lease contract ends in a month. I'm very lucky that we have a very flexible car policy that also allows us to order convertibles. So I ended up ordering this
Not sure yet when it will be delivered, but it shouldn't take longer than 2 or 3 months...
And if I ever get that itch again to get a proper sports car, I might just get myself an E89 ... Black, off course.

Sounds like you've been a little unlucky with your cogster
Hope the garage does the right thing & repairs/refunds as appropriate

With the Boxster still broken down, I've found myself lurking for another sportscar and noted a very nice one online. And guess what, it's a black E85 with beige interior... oh dear...

The Porsche repairs are taking a long time, is the seller helping you?Bad_Pritt wrote:With the Boxster still broken down, I've found myself lurking for another sportscar and noted a very nice one online. And guess what, it's a black E85 with beige interior... oh dear...

nothing wrong with a beige interior - nicer than black in summer with top down. at least theyre sports seats!
can't believe the prices of E85's over here in holland and belgium - my UK E85 is similar spec and mileage and albeit with a few issues to sort, was less than half the asking price! Bonkers.
That wood dash though.... eww.
