I'm 23 (Z4 M Coupe, male, single) and am paying £1300 with Elephant. As i've said, i've got a £2000 excess.
Was curious so just got a new quote - 3 years NCB (used to have 6 - grrr) , 26, just quoted £997 with Admiral through insuresupermarket.com... £400 excess.

Little White Shark, I am sure you can do better than £1000 on a 2.2

I pay £500 with £250 excess with bell for my 2.2, 2 years NCB, male 33 years grey living in south glasgow, parked in the street.

It might just be your postcode has a high number of claiments and therfore its a higher rist area for insurence payout.

Combine Insurance and age in one post. At least it gives me something to smile about...

Hit 50, feel 35, act 20 and mental age of 10, but only pay just over £200 fully comp, protected NCB, etc. on the 3.0i Z

Ah the benefit of age. I can also insure my 6 litre V8 Jeep for £118 PA and a 3.0i X5 sport for another £200... :) :) :)
Jaguar F-Type 3.0 Supercharged V6 S, Stratus Grey, LSD, Active Exhaust, CF wheels, Performance brakes, Sports seats and mods ongoing
Gone but not forgotten Z4 3.0i SE Roadster ///M front, Red ///M leather seats, Aero sills

I'm 38 and just paid £630, with £300 excess on a 2.5, 9 years PNCB, no points of convictions, does that sound expensive? It was the best quote I could find.

On a slightly different note (insurance still)... how come the UK guys all talk about who they are insured with and the best deal, but the US guys never do? Does insurance not work the same over there?

It's because there's about a zillion insurances here, and 50 States (each with their own regulations on coverage). So my $90/month insurance with the one I'm with probably won't help the guy who's in Florida etc.

Rates also will differ slightly depending on the area you live in in the city.

I've also heard that some insurances now look into your credit rating to determine costs too (dunno if that's true?).

Yeh, I think I better have another look at my insurance quote! It was the cheapest I could find on moneysupermarket.com. It can't be to do with the area I live in because there's a Lambo right behind where we live! I think it may be because I crashed last year (not my fault!) but even though my NCB wasn't affected, that may have something to do with it.
