Can't find anything that matches... judging by ranski's post that sounds like that might not be a bad thing...

Re: Z4 puddle lights
HI guys..Hmm mixed reactions! Well I was expecting that...
For the record I followed a link on the forum to install puddle lights and sourced these from ebay (where else) for £20. Took the feed from footwell lights chasing wires through door jam trunking.
The units themselves consist of a small tube 4cm X 2cm, a Biright SMD light one end, a couple of lenses and a BMW logo filter. Quite well made, a bit like a Maglite? I sited them just inside the bottom of the door card approx half way along.
Any way great Forum enjoy...
Mike

Re: Z4 puddle lights
Absolute genius! (not sure I'd have them on mine though)
Unique and well done though.

Re: Z4 puddle lights
Anyone tried to retro fit puddle lights or footwell lights.
My 2009 has the holes in the cabin for the footlights but no wires.
Also the recesses are there in the doors but no holes.
Have purchased some led light assemblies that replace the standard units.
Have seen a wiring diagram that showed some red/blue and brown wires, but using a multimeter under the fuse box, the wires that colour red/blue seemed permanent 12v.
I removed the dome light assembly to have a look at the wires there, but that seems to be fed with 12v, then looks as though there might be some digital signal to the circuit board to switch the light, to fade in and out, so stumped.

Was it easy to feed the wires to the footwells lights from the door? And the panels in the footwell were easy to take off?
