Hi Guys,

What is in the image below. I presumed it was for voice control..? By the way, the car is a 2.0 2006.

If this is voice control can anyone advise me on how to connect my phone. I have read elsewhere instructions on how but I don't seem to have a 'pairing button' in the drop down compartment (see image2 below)

Cheers in advance guys.

It's a standard button for voice control & phone control. It's on the (multi-function) steering wheel whether you have those functions or not.

I have the button but my "flimper spec" Zed doesn't have that function either.

Actually it doesn't have any functions at all - apart from making me grin like a loon..... :D

Got to love the Z4 but for BMW to put a switch in the car with no function is slapdash, scratty and poor!

I had a fiat once and even they had the initiative to put a 'blank' in when the car didn't have the function. BOOOO BMW!

Not just BMW, other manufacturers also do this.

I've had Toyota's, Fiat's, Audi's and VW of which were lacking all the gadgets and never experienced it. For a manufac. with such value it seems a bit slack to me...

I am looking at a Parrot hands free kit as they also have an installable interface that connects the zeds steering wheel controls to the hand free unit. :)
