hi
i am new around here , i will get my Z4 this week , its a 2008 z4 3.0si roadster , alpine white(pic`s soon:) )
i have a few questions -
1. which fuel should i use ? 95 or 98 (octane) ?what is most recommended? what do you guys use ?
2. unfortunately my car doesnt equipped with the sport button , i know it makes the suspension steering and throttle better , but is the diffrent significant ?
thanks alot

1. You can use either, I use super unleaded - 99/98RON.
2. Not suspension as far as I know, but steering & throttle is much better.

Re: 2008 Z4 3.0si roadster few questions
As said it will run on either but many prefer to use the higher octane. I do all the time get increased mpg that about compensates for the extra costs. Others report no perceived difference.
Correct that the sport affects the steering (by reducing the power assistance) throttle response (by making the pedal more sensitive) but also the auto box by making changes quicker and higher up the rev range.
Suspension is not controlled at all

i alternate between the different grades of fuel. If I run it on 95ron all the time the car looses it's sparkle.
Regarding the sport button in my opinion your not really loosing a lot. It weights up the steering (no required) and makes the throttle hyper sensitive. This results in a jerky ride at lower speeds.

Welcome
Tried the higher octane a few times, not noticed a huge difference myself...
Used to use the sport button all the time, but got tired of the hair trigger throttle, so I dont think you will miss it

Must be the si SE model and not the si sport. The si sport also has the M sport steering wheel and suspension + the 108 wheels (which look great but last about 2 years max!)
I'd miss my sport button to be honest!
Like the white. Suits the Z4.

3.0si Z4 Coupe then an sDrive 35i Z4. Great cars, now gone. Range Rover Evoque owner now!

Re: 2008 Z4 3.0si roadster few questions
thanks for the answers
what is the SE model ? is it avalible for 2008 ?i could only find SE up to 2004 on the net
my car comes from the us (where its made) and is , infact a usa car (i imported it my selfe to israel)
i looked on a wide range of z4s in the us , they have no SE model , only the SI , the SI when equipped with the "sport package"(1300 USD option) comes with the 108 wheels and the sport button(mine has the 201 wheels which are very nice as well). but the car says SI on it and equipped with 265 BHP 3.0 engine .
i guess models are diffrent between UK and US
any how i will get it this friday
cant wait !
thanks again

Hi
I have used either Octane 95 and 98 in my SI Coupe, both have a marginal difference (apart from price) As for the Sport button, thats something else, makes the throttle very sensative but great fun.
Enjoy your new car.
