No, the engine has original Internals. The boost is only 5psi, so it should be safe. It has original injectors, so this is the limit for the kit. They are maxed now. That is why they have upgraded the fuel pressure, so they could boost 1psi more for the stage 1+. It's not a twin screw :(
Are different injectors not an option?
Afaik the n52 already runs at a high fuel pressure. 5 bar or something like that? More than the m54 (3,5 bar).
Maybe they want to keep cost a bit down.

70whp is an healty upgrade though.
Still 30Nm of extra torque too, so in the lower revs it should still be noticeable.
Hans said that the fuel pressure is 5.8 bar now. He also said that the stage 1+ is close to 6psi of supercharged pressure..

Since the engine can't handle that more pressure, I think it was a good decision to go with stock injectors. It made the kit more affordable and easier to install.

Yes it got 294.8hp on the dyno, so with the 15% drivetrain loss it is 294.8/0.85 = 347hp

After some testing, the engine got one broken piston. But the engine pushed over 400hp with that setup. So I think it would be safe for my engine to just push 5 psi :)
12 psi :dizzy:

There is a very large area between 5 and 12 psi

But I think that going uncooled over 6-7psi is a risk if it's hot.

I wonder how your setup will drive and if there will be any tuning issues (like ecu fault codes, interferance from ping sensors etc etc)

Do you know how they control the blowoff valve? Is there a throttle activated vacuum point with the valvetronic?
Or is the secondary throttlebody (or should I say only electronic throttlebody) activated on throttle lift for vacuum reasons? (or is that only activated in ESP moments like on the m52tub)

And do you know why only now they come up with this kit? Maybe the ecu wasnt hacked enough in the past?
I'm not sure of the questions, but it drive 100% smooth. Very happy with that one :)

Is the kit available now to buy? I assume it is developed/finished? I'd like to order one, so have been watching your threads with interest.

Yes, of course :)

There was no space for the airfilter to be mounted in front of the supercharger. So ESS have buildt a new steel tube before the airfilter, they have also changed the supercharger belt position vs E90 setup. Having electronic steering, it also have a different belt. Can not feel any heat soak, but will try to run a cooling line to the air filter soon.
The air have a shorter way into the supercharger now. That gives more power if it's not running to hot.

Not yet, but they will produce a kit for Z4 soon.

That really is an interesting layout... probably be too much effort/ cost to pipe the airfilter next to the radiator.

It is not enought space on the Z4, the N52 engine are mounted closer to the cockpit than the S54 and M54.

Just thinking back to when i had my front bumper off.. where the M brake vents are there was a lot of space in that vicinity.

Yes, that is thrue. But it is space between supercharger and struthousing that is the problem...

yeah not to keen on the air filter placement tbh...... thats sucking in alot of engine bay heat.... on a non intercooled car i think that needs some development, maybe you could use some sort of slimline carbon airbox unit that has a flexi piece, loops back where you can't see and take from low bumper.. however its a relative minor, the rest of it is super clean looking as i expect from ESS. That engine with a blower is a win for me.... must be awesome! Can you make some video clips of how it idles and sounds with the blower reving and other situations ??

You would get more benefit from cooling the air post supercharger rather than pre air filter, its the compressing of the air that heats it up so i think a cold air feed would only have a small effect, have you room for a small air to air intercooler in there?

Bonnet vents??

To be honest for a first stab im impressed.

You could always get an air duct from the grill to the filter and make a heat shield on the engine bay side of the filter
