leather trim - Update - with pics, page 4

Post by synthedup » Sun Feb 14, 2016 12:12 pm

Hi all,

The car is going to the upholsterers next week for the dash and centre console to be trimmed in carbon leather with a red stitch.

Question is does anyone have any good photos of one already done? Iv see the dash but not the centre console, any pics would be great :)

Ps, pics to follow tomorrow not the car has its KW coilovers and CSLs fitted

I'd be interested to know the cost and quality of job on this

I have the one off eBay on the centre console and it looks a bit naff

I'd warn that the sport button won't fit back in if its a thick leather wrap, though

A good upholsters will thin the leather for areas where there are buttons or folds.

Takes some time but they should do this as standard.

Looking forward to this. I approached a couple of local(ish) re-trimmers before Christmas and niether would take on the work. I assumed is was too intricate and wouldnt have enough margin in it for them. Anyway I'm respraying mine now

Just been to the trimmers, he's quoted £80 to do all 3 pieces in a carbon leather and red stitch. I was expecting more like £200. It's booked in but not till
the 28th March :( pics will follow. I offered to double it to £160 if he could do it sooner and gaurented me perfection, he said he can't do it sooner due to how busy he is, but can gaurentee perfection for £80. If it's as good as I hope I'm sure he will be getting some work from this forum

Haha no he's a chap in Barnsley, he's been working for a company for years and now started working for himself a few months ago, his work looks top notch from what I saw tonight and his workshop is lovely, lets wait and see what the end result looks like
