Getting my front bumper resprayed in a week. I'm tempted to relocate the front number plate to the side and get a smaller one but unsure if this will look abit "chav" thoughts?

I personally don't like it.

It reminds me of being a teenager and doing "mods" that were cheap/free just for the sake of being different. However life would be boring if we were all the same :)

Front number plate location

There was a member on here a while back that did that, opinion was mixed about it if I remember correctly. Personally I think the offset look is a bit jarring - mind you I still have problems with the Alfas offset plate :D

Acceptable only on Alpha's where the grille makes it necessary and anything of the 'Fast & Furious' genre.

What about getting it all smoothed out then a sticky plate put on in the middle ? Or a smaller plate in the centre of the lower grill?
Just a thought but would probably look sh#t

I like the idea of a old style sticky vinyl plate a la E-Type

I think you would just have to fake up plates and offer them up covering your options and see what it looks like

I passed a black Dodge Charger yesterday morning with no plate on the front - looked fantastic ( not all to do with the plate lol) but suspect illegal

Each to their own. Personally I like the look, so here's mine.

Think I'll fill the holes in then offer up the plate and see what looks best. No front plate is illegal sadly! The letters have to be a certain size and spacings etc was reading up on the DVLA website.

I'm all for relocating it not happy with the standard position think it messes up the curves at the front of the car.

I tried it on the side but wasn't happy with that either so here's where I ended up with mine

I'm not sure a 5 digit cut down plate on a silver car gives a true impression of what a standard 7 digit plate on a different colour would look like.

While no big deal and I'm sure you get away with it it's certain to be illegal as it has to be displayed vertically (and mis-spaced)

I very nearly bought the tow eye plate from the states but then decided against it.
