New wheels it is then, now which ones???

Post by Ducklakeview » Wed Jun 15, 2016 8:28 pm

Ok, after all the deliberation I have decided not to refurb the 108's. Spending the best part of £500, and still having 13yr old wheels with unknown history simply doesn't make sense.

Now I am going to stay on 18" rims, and will be keeping the Bridgestone RFT's, simply because they were fitted new 2 months before I bought the car, and don't fancy the combination of 19" wheels, with even less sidewall, not with our roads..

So, I noticed Mr Wilks pointed out some nice staggered MV3 reps in silver from CM wheels, which I liked the look of, and then I saw them in gunmetal...

I really like these, but wonder if the colour is too similar to my car's Sterling Grey?

And then I spotted these, again 18" staggered, 405M style and although I don't normally like black wheels on a darkish car, I DO like the diamond highlights in these..

What do you lot reckon??

Worth a mention that whilst you can fit runflats to aftermarket alloys they are unlikely to function correctly should they get a puncture as they wouldn't have been designed for that use :?

I would have thought, that as the OEM wheels are designed for either, then so would aftermarket?

Leaning that way now, the others too blingy for me I think.

Mr Wilks, what's a set of 108's in need of a light refurb (no damage) worth with a full set of rfts with 5mm+ all round worth? May go for new rubber too..

Gonna order them tomorrow, typical I came to the shop without my wallet.

Will bang some Rain Sport 3's on there, as reasonably priced @ £310 for a set, delivered.

Just need to sort some new bolts now. Do you know if the holes on the CM Wheels reps will take the std BMW centres?

For £10 more on the Uni RS3 you can have 245 40 rears / 215 45 fronts , more comfort , more wheel protection & also less arch gap

? Already have 255/35/18 rears and 225/40/18 fronts, don't want to go for narrower tyres..
