How about this for impressive efficiency, 25mile commute to work on A & B roads keeping up with the flow of traffic.

Achieved despite listening to led Zeppelin as well Rob.

From memory it's 5w30 oil, it's been getting gradually better as we left winter behind.mr wilks wrote:impressive mr b can I ask what grade oil you are currently running ?
Was up to 40mpg at one point but I couldn't maintain it.
I've been treating the ccv & associated pipework with seafoam every couple of months as I suspect it was partly gummed up, oil usage has reduced and it feels very healthy

Hi, I try to drive smoothly & look a long way ahead to help anticipate what's happening.Garibo wrote:How on earth did you manage that!!??
It would be pretty easy to drop to high twenties mpg without increasing the average mph.

OP, that is impressive!
I might manage that with Led Zep or Pink Floyd, but never with the Stones, Foofighters, Green Day or similar!
Wonder what could be achieved with the Carpenters??? (assuming you didn't fall asleep and crash)!

That's a good mpg figure.
I don't think I've ever checked my car's mpg in just over 14 months of daily driving. I just fill it up when it is empty.
