Easy to do gearbox oil yourself? I feel like doing mine as it's 14 years old and although it's meant to be lifetime, I feel like my Z4 is well overdue it at 122,000 miles.

Got home and thought I'd introduce it to my first love......... what a cracking couple they make! :D

When I got the car I threw some cheap aero wipers on, long story short they were garbage. Replaced with some Michelin Stealths today, nice and cheap at only £6 each and a lot better.

Exciting!

Where did you manage to find them for £6 each?

Easy but some are easier. Mine has both drain and fill plugs, I used some tubing and a funnell to fill it but if you only have one then you'll need a syringe. At 122k it will defo be worth doing, my first change was at 76k and it was nasty. I used Castrol last time but Red Line MTF this fill. Consider the diff too.

Indeed, believe they're usually £6 plus VAT, found them for £5 this week

What have you done to your car today?

Hi

polished the windscreen with Glasspolish product today and replaced wiper blades.

When I got the car I noticed that there were quite many very thin scrapes typical of old wiper blades being left too long. Got the product and today worked on the windscreen with the pad mounted on an electric drill. some observations that I hope will be useful for those who feel like tackling this job:
  • Mask the car!
Wet the pad before putting the compound on it
Have strong arms (it gets tiring)
Use the drill at an angle (easier to control)
Don't wet the windscreen too much (weakens the compound effectiveness and makes a real mess)
    Have patience
    Repeat several times
I am 75% happy with the result: the vast majority of the scratches have disappeared leaving the windscreen a lot better than before and the new blades run super smooth. I could have achieved an even better result if I had had the time to do the windscreen 2 or even 3 times.

I bought 10 pads and an additional bottle of compound: in my view there is no need for any additional items, the standard kit should suffice. Of course it depends on the severity of the problem...

Hope this is useful!

They look really good!

Am I right in thinking they are a 19" E89 wheel? If so, do they fit without any rubbing?
