Have to say its a very different experience than before it was fitted and i do like it so far. Found that the sound was quite normal until i pressed the pedal hard and then the noise hit me. Will have to see what it's like on my drive to work as thats at higher speeds for longer distances before deciding on whether to add foam or not.chapeau wrote:Fitted a sound generator to my 2.5i just now. There was no foam in it at either end so i'm either going to love it or be in desperate need of a piece of foam

Are you on adaptive dampers David? If so do the Eibachs make the sport setting too hard or not? I had Eibachs on an MR2 and they were fantastic, but awful on a Z4M I tried, too low, hard and bouncy. Any thoughts on the ride now compared to before with the new equipment?DLH wrote:Fitted Eibach sports springs and Eibach front & rear ARBs.
I think that the lower stance suits the car better.
I thank you.

I have the standard, non-adaptive dampers John. I'm pleased with the ride quality and the handling, albeit that's based only on the drive home which was only 18 miles!john-e89 wrote:Are you on adaptive dampers David? Once the work was finished, including a full alignment, David Painter - who owns & runs Specialist Cars in Shrewsbury - took her out and commented that he was surprised at how smooth and non-crashy the ride was with the Eibach setup.

Well today i gave my new car a wash and wax, hoover. Cleared the roof drains and then decided those duck like bungs were stupid, so removed them. Checked tyre pressures and fitted mudflaps front and rear......ready for summer.

This afternoon I clean and sealed the roof with the AutoGlym kit which has brought it up a treat.
Washed it with Clean Slate to shift the old wax sealant.
Decided it didn't need claying so after a very detailed drying session i went ahead and polished it with my new Bilt Hamber cleanser polish, super stuff, best polish I've used to date.
Now safely away from the elements tucked away in the garage.
Tomorrow morning will see 2 (possibly 3) coats of Bilt Hamber Finis wax to seal the finish. And also a deep clean of the alloys and a once over of the interior. Then depending on the weather maybe some photos.

Looks absolutely superb ! One of the best colour combos with the 107s that I have seen. Why have you fitted mudflaps for summer ? Is it supposed to be wetter than usual ?

Picked up today, washed & vacuumed and running smoother than ever.Highlander wrote:"What have you done to your car today?"
Sent it away for a week's holiday to a trusted indy in Edinburgh.
New disks, pads, sensors and replace brake fluid.
Inspection 1 service and MOT
Check fluids in gearbox and differential...replace if required.
Should be fighting fit for a summer's worth of top down cruising.
Craig Moncrieff cars out in the Gyle,Edinburgh.......highly recommended.......Craig set up on his own after 18 years at John Martin group.I met him as the service manager at Murray Lotus although he trained as a mechanic originally so has a good knowledge.
Invoice was £815 which seems like a lot of cash but it's peace of mind and the knowledge that all the work has been done without time constraints and to a high standard........worth every penny to me.

Engine warning light came on this week and I put my fault reader on the car. Answer system too lean bank 2 so left it until the weekend to have a look.
Quickest ever fault diagnosis around 10 seconds after opening the bonnet I noticed a rip in the intake boot.
If only all faults on my Z4 were that quick and that cheap..
