What have you done to your car today?
I had an inspection 1 done, new front rear wish bone bushes, two new horn units, brake fluid. All at a main dealer!!! I must be mad, but now the steering is absolutely perfect and I haven't had a horn like that for years

Thought I'd jump on the band wagon and remove my washer bottle, give it a good old fashioned clean, clean the filter and put it all back.
Was pleasantly surprised to see only one tiny bit of black gunk in the filter, and a sparkling reservoir top to bottom. I used washing up liquid with good results. I did the work on Monday evening and filled to the brim with tap water. I Checked it's still brimmed today before siphoning out and putting a 20/50 mix of Halfords premium screen wash in.
I would highly recommend using gummy phledge on the filter rubber, and a bit on the hose connection just to keep the rubbers supple.

polished the headlights to remove some cloudiness, re-stained and re-finished the drivers seat bolster, added door pin surrounds to match the gear knob and hand brake, put my black with red piping mats in.

Took it for an MOT and it passed.
Unfortunately it got 2 advisories for the rear brake pipes. It's where they pass under the floor just in front of the rear wheel. BMW put a plastic cover on them but it looks like it may just catch road crap!
Now I need to work out how to get under the car with no garage or decent jack (I've already got the Hammerite as my E46 had a similar problem last year)!

I can't understand why manufacturers still use steel brake pipes - kunifer is the sensible alternative and especially so in such a safety import area.
It's an option I would tick even if it was and extra £100 on the order form!

Does that pin surround stop them rattling?
If you try and take a cat apart the first thing you have is a non working cat.

Unscrew the pins. Wrap a few turns of insulating tape around the pin so it fits snugly but doesn't bind in the hole. Screw back in place. No rattles !

Took #108 for an MOT - flew through, no advisories. Not bad for a car on 118k and 13 years old..... so will give her some pampering this weekend
