Many thanks for the excellent service Mike (Ducklakeview), much appreciated indeed. Top man.

I'm going to try and get this done this summer as prevention rather than cure.

Big news....
I fitted a new Bmw boot badge to replace the faded one that came with the car.

Well where do I start...I did a trackday 2 weeks ago but since then the cars been a bit off, the shockers were old and had gave up so it was time for a full refresh.

I stripped the brakes and replaced both front and rear discs and pads, nice easy job .... Well it would have been if the disc retaining screws came out :headbang: queue the drill .
I was having a good look at everything as I went pulling and pushing every bush to see how things were.
When I was finished assessing everything it was clear the control arm bushes were shot as were the ARB bushes as well as the shocks!
It's getting prices now £££

So ordered up the arb bushes front and rear (power flex) and normal rubber control arm bushes all 4 shocks but the springs had been replaced very recently as they were still shining like new.
Strangely the front arb bushes I took out were 25mm but the power flex 1's were 24mm but they fitted very snugly around the bar so they must be the correct 1's
What and epic job removing the seized bolts from the hubs, man it took ages and 1 snapped :headbang: what a complete ball ache it was drilling it out.
Arb went smooth and took 10 mins start to finish.....but those dam control arm bushes just fought all the way off until I brought in the grinder!
Replacing was smooth enough with a ratchet strap on the arb round the back of the bush and a quick tighten.

All in it was harder than it should have been due to rusty bolts but nothing to bad , the car now drives fantastic really tight and brakes in a straight line! No bouncing or snappy diving or lurching when I brake, I still have a few wee jobs to do but I'm taking a well earned beer for now.

Not strange at all, 25mm is M Sport suspension and 24mm is normal suspension. You bought the wrong ones and if you had to clamp it then it's too tight and will struggle to rotate within the bushes which could affect suspension performance. Best to refit the correct 25mm version.

Can't beat the ///M wheel - did you manage to get a decent used one or buy new?

Dam, I bought them in europarts and they used my reg to see what I needed, the rears were 19mm but the power flex kit was 18mm, I guess they are wrong too?
