18x8.5 et35 or et40?? Lowered - PICTURES ADDED

Post by NathanZ4C » Sun Mar 05, 2017 9:04 pm

I'm just looking at some new wheels.

I have a 3.0si Coupe running eibach lowering springs. Currently running 18x8 et35 up front with 225/40/18.

I'm looking to go to 18x8.5 upfront however they do a et35 or an et40 I'm not sure which is best, any clues?

Wouldn't at 35 offset be more flush?

I'm driving 8x18 et35 with 235/40/18 tyres & have some slight rubbing in the wheel arches. Note that my car is NOT lowered

If they're an 8J I would recommend 225s or 215s...I had the same problem (although mine is lowered and 19s).

18x8.5 et35 or et40?? Lowered

Post by NathanZ4C » Tue Mar 28, 2017 9:04 am

Was going to purchase the wheels today and now read this again :/

So we saying the et40 will stick out a little further than they do now? And I assume the tyre a little more stretched give the wheel is 0.5" wider? I do rub a little now on full lock

I'm looking to go 19x9.5 et35 on the rear with 265/30/19. Controversial I know. But haven't been able to find anyone who's done it. My previous car had 1" larger wheels on the rear as standard, with the weight being at the front it would be nice to have a bit more tyre with our roads, I have 2 sets of front tyres which are already 18's, but i long for a more filled arch especially on the rear.
