Daft question maybe but i have never seen a dipstick as awkward to read as tge one in my Z. M54 3.0. Actually has a dipstick.. that's a start. ... question is where is the max level.
Is it at the top of the cut away section or is it at the top of the plastic centre section?
Should the oil cover the last metal rod part.

You want the oil level to sit somewhere in the small section in the middle, just about the spikey point

Oil is currently at the top of the middle plastic bit. So it dont need any more?
Thanks for reply.
Why cant they just mark it min and max!!
Z3... 3lt manual. Heated memory leather. Auto lights wipers. Xenons. Cruise. 230bhp.
Austin Mini automatic.... 998... 35bhp. Manual seats wipers lights...
Both as much Fun as each other!!!!

If they made it that easy there'd be no forums like this :)

At least you have a dip stick.
All I get to do is push a button and the dash lights tell me about the oil. :(
