How safe is our Z4?

Safe enough for me - I tend to avoid driving into big bits of concrete!

Mind you as a regular user of the M3 (when it happens to be open) I have over 3 years experience of concrete avoidance.
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

As above
Plus to be fair bags worked fine
Seats in place and bonnet/engine did their job of absorbing impact energies

That's why new cars fall to pieces like an F1 car wheels etc all designed to fall off as losses energy :)

I do my best to stay away from fktard drivers also

Quite reassuring except that: I drive an E85 - and I now have a sudden desire to fit a four point harness like my other car but I suppose that doing that would only increase the shock to shoulders and back rather than getting a face full of air bag. There does look to be a lot of movement in the seat back and seat belt though even with the tensioners firing.

Its a small, low, light car.
It'll never be really safe.
Buy a big volvo instead.

Or sit at home in a soft thick blanket and listen to the clock tick  - I was shocked at how well it performed not how badly. The comments about belts vis harness was because I'd never been aware of how much relative movement the belt allows.

Video is entitled "BMW Z4 Roadster fails at Euro NCAP crash test" yet it gets given a 3-star NCAP score, so it didn't 'fail', did it?

What was it meant to be failing on? Looked pretty good to me for a 2 seater convertible.

I learned to drive in the early eighties, I would like to see how a Marina, Avenger, Cortina, or early Mondeo, or indeed any of them would survive those tests today, not many I suspect.

I guess I am one of the few lucky survivors that made it.

Here is the crash test video of the prefacelift E-85 Z4.
While the video does not show the rating I am pretty sure it was rated 4 stars.
