Quick question. Will any BMW steering wheel fit our cars?

Not any, but a lot from the same era do fit. Be sure you have/find one with a dual stage airbag. Most BMW switched from single stage to dual stage between 1999-2001.

Z4 use a dual stage!

I've heard e46 and e53 will fit. It's easy to fit, pop the airbag off, and one bolt to undo. Oh and goes without saying you'll need to disconnect the battery. Not sure if you can wire them up correctly to make the MFSW work

Cheers, I was only asking because it appears most things on the very early E85's were pre-wired, you just had to add the switches or units.
I take it, the buttons work the stereo ?

I assume the cruise will work the same on the E46, i.e. one wire takes the signal, if so just need to find the pin on the wheel and run the pin from the cruise stalk connector to it.

Nope, it's bigger by about 20mm. Having had an e46 and a Z4 with the M Sport wheel they are about the same in thickness, although compared to a standard Z4 wheel it's thicker.
