Not sure where you will find them cheaper, but I would consider going for the black backed ones rather than Chrome.

Personal preference, but I seem to recall reading some threads on here that some people regretted getting Chrome backed ones.

I have a set and will be wiring in a relay so that the eyebrow (normal sidelight connection) is made with IGN off and the halos on when IGN on. Put some connectors at the LCM to make it reversible. There are 3 pairs of wires, one does some odd double LEDs in between the halos which I won't connect.
I personally prefer black, chrome look a bit too bling for me. Depending on how you wire up you will need to either code out bulb checks/add resistors/cover bulbs.

I have the black ones on my Zed. The chrome type are far too blingy and tacky looking IMO.

Black for me also. The halos aren't very bright and I've heard they are hard to see with the chrome backed lights.

Mine were chrome (I bought them off an auction site for about £130 so jumped at the chance - they don't come up very often here, ie, almost never...) which I don't think look good on black Z4's, so I pulled them apart and resprayed the inners satin black. Much, much better in my opinion, and as others have said, the black inners make the halos stand out a bit more (they were a bit 'lost' amongst the chrome before).

With Chrome inners:

Having said that, I think the chrome may look OK on a silver or grey Zed.

I went black too, they look almost OEM where as the chrome look very much aftermarket IMO:

I bought mine from 2xcite
