Spacers advice

Steve84N wrote: ↑Sat May 20, 2017 1:20 am You guys don't drive hard enough, spacers do affect the handling for the better. I'd recommend 10 or 12 all round as you don't want more track width on the rear compared to the front unless you like more understeer. I use 10 and looks wise it's fine to me.
I'm not Lewis Hamilton, trying to find that extra tenth of a second, so it doesn't bother me whatsoever.

If anything, my car tends to oversteer quite easily if pushed. Vredestein Vorti's all around so it's not on linglong tyres.

I'm not looking for tenths either but if you can't tell the difference with and without spacers then you're not very in tune with how it's handling.

I can tell the difference. I just don't feel having 20mm spacers on the rear will be dramatically worse than having 10mm ones.

As long as it drives alright on the public road and on a country road blast of a weekend, that's more than enough for me.

20mm rear 15mm front on standard Msport springs, I'd say it actually drives a bit better, Certainly looks better.

So i have 18" rims, so what spacers do i get??? I am running eibachs
Do i get 20 rear, 15 front?
15 rear, 12 front?
or am i better going the same all round? 12? 15? 20?

I dont want to ruin the handling but i want the wheels to fill the arches better now its on the pro springs. Give me your opinions, advice and experience please, all will be much appreciated.

Russ
Hey rusky have u fitted yours yet? I'm running 18s on eibach suspension as well & wanted to go for 20/15 but I'm worried that they'll rub as the roads around me are a bit crappy. I'm not sure if 12mm on the back will fill the arches the way I want them too.

Any recommendations on brand as well?

Would be good to hear how you've found 12 all round and maybe some pics

You can fit 25mm spacers on the rears on eibach springs and not have any rubbing. 20mm are perfectly fine.

Listen to Mr. Wilks
I went with 20 / 15 as per his recommendation.
That's an E85 3.0SI with sport suspention
108's with stock sized staggered Michelin PSS (a meatier profile than stock run flats).
I'm totally happy.

Many here are also running 20 / 15.
Probably the most popular set up.
If you go smaller will you be able to live with yourself ? :poke:

Thanks Ben.

Just seen yours and it does look good!!

Are u happy with the 20/12? Did they fill the arches or would you go a bit bigger now you've done it?

Haha! Good point bumpy! That's the dilemma I'm having! Don't want to go too small and be upset with the result but don't want to go to big and get rubbing.

Just popped out and measured it up as best I could and got 30mm for the back, so allowing for the arch lip 20mm looks perfect.

So with that being said I think I'll go with the 20/15 set up and pray for no rubbing!

I get some rubbing on the front with stock wheels and tyres using 10mm on B12 suspension with a harder H&R ARB. Should be alright not lowered though.
