Front support strut through the grill.

I've just fitted Matt black grills and this has highlighted the support strut behind them needs a lick of paint.

Can I just remove this (through the grills) or do I need to prop anything up?

Would hammerite be ok as it's an ally bar?

I gave my support struts a light sanding and sprayed them with satin black spray in situ through the grille apertures.

You're a braver man than I!

I started picking at the paint and it all fell away from behind it too.
