N52 Headers... potential...

Post by bradz » Sat Jun 10, 2017 1:59 pm

I have been speaking to btbexhausts.co.uk about a tubular manifold for the 3.0si and 2.5si (I think they are the same)

This should give us 18-20bhp according to everyone who has fitted one the other side of the pond.

Unfortunately there is no off the shelf manifolds for RHD cars.

We need at least 5 people to make this work.

If we can get 5 people we can get them for about £1800, I'm happy for it to be developed on my car.

This should give us 18-20bhp according to everyone who has fitted one the other side of the pond, my plan is to have a high flow bolt on cat further down to keep within the law :)

I understand this is a lot of money, Is anyone interested?

I would have been interested but it's just too much money for me.

A fair price I'm sure, I just can't spare that much cash.

Apparently, that's why McLaren lined the engine bay of the F1 with it...

On a serious note, that is a LOT of money for a "potential" 18-20bhp, I'm sure a good remap could achieve the same for a lot less..

You'd be better de-catting and using the £1800 to pay for a life times worth of MOT testers to look the other way....

But on a serious note it is something looked into and would love to do but £1800 is a lot and you'd still need the re-map to realise any improved performance, not to mention cats and custom cat back SS system to match!

There are headers and Cats system available through Schmiedman for about £2500+VAT, not sure whether it'll fit the RHD Z4 though but might be worth asking them if it will!?
