Good work on that! Not feeling it though, doesn't seem to flow with the rest of the rear end.

Maybe it just needs bigger wheels to fill up the arches?

I like the way the number plate area flows into the bottom grill, I hadn't noticed that at first. I know what you mean, the rear arches are where there is room for improvement. However it's an area I've always taken issue with even as standard. The Zed has always looked damn sexy from behind, but from the side profile towards the rear end it has always looked a little lightweight and high to me. I wanted to extend that area to tie it in with the aggressive front end.

If I can think of a way to improve on it or if there are any good suggestions I will continue to work with it.

I'm not too sure what size my wheels are, I thought they were 19's but maybe they're 18's. I'd love a new set of wheels but I'm pretty skint now for the foreseeable.

Thanks for that, so I'm looking for something bigger than 18" if I ever get the money. Just out of curiosity, what sort of size is it feasible to go up to dependant on tyres? My previous car was a Mitsubishi FTO on rubber bands, it had serious lack of road comfort though.

Sprayed the caliper covers in anthracite alloy wheel paint as an experiment and I actually quite like the results. Looks tidy and understated, may end up keeping them afterall until I decide to go ahead with ESP's suggestion.

Thank's I'm just glad that it blended well with the existing bumper. Not having to find someone to spray is definitely a money saver, I wouldn't have gotten through half of it if that was the case.

Ok I've given it enough time and I'm really not happy with how the rear diffuser turned out. Having body coloured the entire thing I believe it stands out too much and isn't in fitting with the rest of the car. I'd say it looks a bit too 'RICE'. So it's time for another experiment.

For the panel highlighted in red I plan to use a carbon fibre vinyl wrap to tie it in with the front diffuser as well as with my next exciting edition coming this week.
For the underneath panel highlighted in green I plan to use black chalkboard paint to give an extreme matt finish and hopefully soften the overall effect.



So as a quick mock up it should look something like the following (Obviously the carbon fibre effect is hard to replicate with my basic PC skills):



I'd be interested to know if others believe as I do that this will be an improvement on the current design. I plan to get to work on it sometime this week.

On a brighter note.........
It's got to be worth a try.
The front looks good with the carbon fibre so I think that will transfer nicely to the back.
Like the idea for the black, it will feel almost like a shadow but how do you think the matt will clean up or mark up?

I'm not too sure to be honest, I remember there was a phase a few years back where people were doing the whole car in matt. I was never a fan of the look, but I think in this case it might work. I hadn't thought too much about it marking up but it's a good question. I guess I can only try it and see. The car doesn't get on the road a great deal at the moment which gives me time to try a few things out, and if it doesn't work there's no harm in flatting it back down and going with a regular paint instead.

On the carbon fibre, I've just bought Beedub's carbon fibre spoiler off him, which he posted a picture of here http://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... 0&start=30

I think having those three points in CF will tie it together as a theme rather than random sections thrown together.
