And have to pay for the common roof motor repair rather than get it fixed for free...? :-P

£80 is more than a acceptable risk to avoid dealing with BMW warranty in the first instance & shoddy work in the second
The OPs case isn't a one off either , you're in a minority if its sorted swiftly & to a decent standard first chance

Just had my tailgate replaced under the corrosion warranty, perfect job carried out by Douglas Park BMW. You should be able to get the alignment fixed with no issues OP, it's not complicated.

Ah that's pretty poor, hope they sort it out.

After my work (discussed in the other 12YR warranty thread) they've left the far end of the front bumper detached. It's solid but the last clip isn't connecting so you can push it in with your finger. Going to an indy to get it sorted when it's MOT'd this week.

OP - Hope they fix it. My old 3.0si Coupe was the same colour as yours and I've got a few good rear end shots (oo er) if you want them.

i think people get worried when they see a job rightly as your head says....

who the hell would let it out the shop like this? and how much care are they taking with the car if this is their standards, i understand the OPs worry, no matter how careful you are messing with large panels like this is an easy way to lead to accidental damage, let alone with people that clearly aren't taking their time.

Hope it gets sorted soon OP.

I've got a 'quality certificate' from my accident repair, it it's not worth the paper it's printed on as the Bodyshop have said they were not prepared to go any further to fix the issues they left after the repair.

They didn't seem to get the point that their quality certificate stated that everything had been done too their strict quality procedures...but if that was the case, then either their quality processes are s**t, or they're not being followed...othwerwise I wouldn't have had misaligned door, unattached sill, unmatched tyres on same axle.

After many months I got a couple of things fixed, but gave up on the rest and fixed them myself.

Got my hatch done under warranty a few years ago though

Danzcoupe.....

never saw a follow up on this one?? did you get it sorted??

as a side note, i hope this makes you feel better i measured some of my panels on various points of the car and they were in spec BUT... some sides where either side of the allowed Gap, so basically, they aren't perfect anyway.
