if you know so much why your car looks so tired in person ?kis wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 2:18 pm On the M54 you want to look out for mostly DISA failure and / or roof motor failure. If they've not been attended to, you can rest assured they will do - probably one week after you've bought it!!
Other than that they are fairly solid, you just need to know it's been looked after - service receipts and garage stamps in the service book.
Also it would be handy to have a list of what's been rectified, for example if they've recently replaced the alternator or batter, then that's another worry off your mind as it should last for a good few years.
Wheels, you can play the modified route? Non standard... more insurance, etc. Also it's not quality tyres as I mentioned before. So another negotiation point.
I'm just talking mostly mechanically BTW. You can easily check exterior / interior yourself. Make sure no rust, dents, etc. Also check lights, the 3rd brake light is prone to cracking.

The alloys are quite pricey & not cheap reps so if you like them then that's a bonus , sterling grey may be common on early Zs but its a terrific paint colour that really suits the E85 imo
Biggest negatives for me on the linked car is its pricey by 3.0 comparison & the 5 speed gearbox early 2.5s have they pull well enough up through the gears but each & every time i was out in mine over 60mph left me forever looking for it
I'm with Marlon , way too many about right now so keep looking

Not sure what you mean? There's a difference between mechanically sound and just aesthetically pleasing?Tomz4m wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 8:27 pmif you know so much why your car looks so tired in person ?kis wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 2:18 pm On the M54 you want to look out for mostly DISA failure and / or roof motor failure. The OP is interested in a realitively good condition Zed, from its looks. It it hasn't been maintained then you'd want to steer clear...

They can wonder badly due to a lack of self centering (not to be confused with tramlining, which is common!Tysonwills wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 11:08 pm The forum speaks of steering problems pre 2006 as this is 2003 what should I look for when testing
