Question?? What MOD first for power increase

Post by NCSam » Mon Jul 24, 2017 7:08 pm

Okay guys! This is a loaded question I know. I just got my Z4 a couple months back and have been doing all the basic stuff to be sure that it's mechanically sound. I want to do something to mod it now. Give me some advice! What would you guys consider to be the best bang for the buck as a mod to increase horsepower? I was contemplating the air intake. Any thoughts??

Unless you're going to bolt on a super charger just give up now and save your cash. Probably not what you want to hear but it's unfortunately true.

If it's power buy a z4m or Alpina as will be cheaper, but I would just make sure the suspension and bushes can be as good as possible to use the power you have.

Thanks for the honesty. I wasn't trying to make it a crazy fast machine. I just thought maybe an exhaust mod or air intake mod might get me an extra 15 hp or so.

From the guys on here who know much more than me , the consensus is that 10-15 max is available on the M54 engine. Personally I find my 3.0 has more power than I have bottle.

Honestly it's a turbo or supercharger.
Sorry!
My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!

I have a 2006 3.0si and it's already fairly spunky. I guess I'll just do some suspension work on it.

I have a remap , secondary cat delete , and a DLV back box mod ,trust me you can feel the difference . But what made the car feel notably faster is a sprint booster . The car feels like it has much more torque .

Does anyone have the specific Sprint Booster part number they have had success with on a 2006 M Roadster?

I had my last 3.0i remapped just made the throttle response a little crisper but obviously nothing like the gains of turbo or sc or a mapped turbo car but it worked for me👍

Secondary cat delete, remap and that's about it without spending thousands. But don't go expecting the same gains you'd get on a turbo engine!
Z4 now sold :(
