Help pls...can I test my e85 stereo with your carver amp?

i think mine has slightly died, but just to make sure it is the amp and not a fuse somewhere, i'd like to test a working amp in my car.

i am in the watford/harrow area.

also-if someone knows somewhere i can take the amp to get fixed, that would be great too.

hi op are you getting display but no sound if so will most probably be your amp I looked around for a place to fix mine and for the prices they are looking at your better just looking around on ebay and the such I found one for around £95 but I was lucky anything upto £190 should do it good luck hope you get it sorted I will also keep an eye out for you

yeh i had issues with the amp before overheating, i reckon something melted inside. would be great to know which bit fails normally.

yeh im getting display and no sound

all ive seen on ebay are prices around 250! madness

I was quoted £800 for a replacement by an on-line repair company, so if you can snap one up on ebay for under £200, bite the bullet as they are only becoming rarer and lets face it, you'll need one if you ever want to sell the car.

800? wtf, crazy-why cant they be repaired though. i assume it a common fault.
or is there another amp i can put in its place?

It's the dsp part that's the problem need a degree to sort it out and 99% can't fix it with regards replacing with normal amp won't work with dsp system so it's a full rip out and reinstalled system

whats the actual issue though? is it a part that's failed? i know guys with engineering degrees lol so with some more detail it could be fixable

think is, even if i get a replacement, it could die in 3 months as they all seem to die anyway. so what about replacing the system?

Nope but it worked when i got it back

and it wasn't crazy cash either.

Mine wasn't water logged though so if thats your issue it probably can't be repaired

called them, they said they dont do it anymore.
