Looks good greg which antenna did you buy and which facia did you order in the end, very tempted for a similar setup but need to find out if my steering wheel controls would still work

Bluetooth which does iTunes, Spotify, Tomtom sat nav etc, auto answer, external mic, call quality is superb and sounds way better than stick head unit. I'm streaming in Apple Lossless to the head unit and component 3 ways and extra 6x9 behind the seats.

I'm installing a Double Din Pioneer SPH-DA120
Check out my double din thread here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=97733
Went a bit quiet due to my printer breaking for a bit but it's all fixed now so getting back to finishing the install asap (In the middle of painting my callipers so once they're done in the next day or 2 I'll make more progress)

Hi Greg, just wondering you have any issues removing your fascia... Just fitting kine new pioneer head unit and I'm struggling to remove it with it being recessed.
Sound is 1000% better though and would highly recommend doing it

Not aftermarket but I went a different route to updating the OEM stereo
Not to everyone's taste but it works with my interior, then I added door speakers to the six speaker system and replaced the ones behind the seats. Sound quality is massively improved.
Thinking of getting a bluetooth adapter to plug in behind.

Well I've fitted my new head unit, and it fits behind the fascia, such that the removable fascia part sits roughly flush with the face of the dash. The opening in the fascia isn't big enough to have the head unit projecting through. Anyway, this being the case, the removable part sits in the opening. When you press the button to pop it out it flips forward but doesn't seem to want to detach. I think ite because of how close it fits within the opening. Seeing that you have a Pioneer head unit, i wondered if you have trouble removing yours.

Ah! I'm with you now. Once you've popped the button you need to push the fascia up slightly to unclip it before pulling it out.Danny_gartside wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2017 9:57 amHi Greggreg81 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 7:25 pmHey,. If you're still having trouble I'd check the mount adaptors to see how well you've fitted then to the unit itself.
Pretty sure you'll be fine after moving the fascia up slightly though to completely unclip it.

I guess there are good marketing reasons for not doing this...but it is a shame car manufacturers dont sell a range of modern headunits for older cars - keeping the oem feel but with modern connectivity. I think the after market headunits look naff and invariably feel cheap.

1000rr, what sort of phone mount are you using there? How does it attach to the centre console in that position? I’ve thinking that would be a good place for me phone:)[/quote]
It’s a Baseus magnetic mount. I’ve wired a cable through the plastic panel so you can’t see any wires to charge the phone for sat nav etc... good position for the phone too.
