Show me your aftermarket headunits

I've been toying with the idea of buying an aftermarket headunit and fitting it with a fascia adaptor instead of the OE business stereo I have but I've never been a fan of the look.

Anyone with one fitted care to share a pic of it so i can get a better idea if it can look better than the crappy ones I've seen before ?

I'm keen to buy one with bluetooth and DAB but all the ones I'm seeing have fancy colourful lights and ridiculous looking buttons. Any recommendations of something that doesn't look like it came out of a '94 Nova?

Thanks all in advance!

This is a JVC - they are about £70. I like it cos the red illumination sort of matches the other lights in the dark.
Blue tooth streaming, hands free mic etc.

Bluetooth which does iTunes, Spotify, Tomtom sat nav etc, auto answer, external mic, call quality is superb and sounds way better than stick head unit. I'm streaming in Apple Lossless to the head unit and component 3 ways and extra 6x9 behind the seats.

Nice one, thanks.

Is there anything I need to look out for when buying a stereo? Fitting type etc? Or will the fascia kit I buy have everything I need to fit it to the zed? Like this...

I picked up this bad boy this evening. Dab, Bluetooth with phone call support etc.

Need to get myself a fascia kit ordered but pretty disappointed it doesn't come with a dab antenna! If they don't get you one way they'll get to the other!!

I think I bought the same as yours but with dab by the looks of it. Can't wait to get it fitted!

Do your steering wheel controls still work and did you need to buy an additional adapter?

I prefer the flat look of the one Marlon has but no idea which is better. Been looking at these 2...

The latter looks better to me, but I had a recommendation to go with the first one. Really not sure as impossible to tell from 1 small photo

I bought both protruding an flat facia's and tried both. I thought the flat worked better (obviously personal preference) so that's what I fitted....will try and take a photo later.

Oe is obviously better but i couldn't live with the terrible sound and archaic functionality

I ended up going with the protruding one in the end. I'm hoping that the black of the fascia looks decent against the black carbon wrap I've done on the dash instead of against the brushed aluminium. Will post pics as soon as I get it fitted (although my wife is 9 months pregnant this week so it might be a while before I find the time :))

Managed to get this all fitted today and I'm really pleased. I did order the protruding one but they actually sent me the flat one so I just fitted it and it looks fine as you can see in the pics.

Dab antenna I fed behind the dash out out the side of the vent and I fed the mic out above the ashtray. Doesn't look too bad I don't think!
