I have just bought my z4 a few weeks ago and what to do an fluid change as not sure when last done.
can anyone tell me the correct and best parts needed for sparkplugs, airfilter, oil filter and oil type.
I need some advice on how to change the sparkplugs and i have read a few posts on changing and all give good advice the only sticking point is the jacking up of the car.
I am doing this for the first time on a BMW and only have a single trolley jack no axle stands, is this possible and where is the best support point for raising the car.
I have a dipstick oil syphon I had on a previous car but only holds 3 litres would this be a better option.

Any LL04 5W30 although I use 5W40 as it uses less between changes. For example I use Shell Helix Ultra as it's keenly priced and plenty good enough for road driving.
Get your filters from ECP and go for Mann, it's basically BMW without the branding tax.
You'd be a dipstick to do the oil under the car with no jack stands and there is no central jacking point anyway. Either try and stop your syphon mid flow or get some jack stands (they're less than £20...). Then you can jack the back to put stands under the front.

Put the jack under the rear jack pad and then put the stand under the front jack pad once it's high enough. Repeat for the other side. If you look under the sills between the front and back wheels you'll see the rectangular plastic blocks.
I'd highly recommend getting some rubber wheel chocks for about a tenner too as you can't lift the rear otherwise. It also helps stop the car twisting when you jack one side up even though the handbrake mostly holds it.
I'm fed up of the process so 90% sure I'm about to splash out on a Quickjack lift system.

For an oil change don't mess about jacking it up and putting it on axle stands, make life easier and safer for yourself and buy a pair of drive on ramps like these Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222302275004
Get someone to watch you drive on, apply handbrake and leave in gear....easy !
Plenty high enough to get access to the sump plug and for draining the oil.
I've owned a pair of 'Paddy Hopkirk' ramps since 1983 and wouldn't be without them.
